  • WikiLeaks released the penultimate draft agreement on the future of internet governance to be discussed at NETmundial 2014 in Brazil, April 23-24. The event is jointly hosted by the goverments of Argentina, Brazil, France, Ghana, Germany, India, Indonesia, South Africa, South Korea, Tunisia, Turkey and the US.
  • A WikiLeaks cable shows that the US approved the sale of a Texas refinery to Brazilian energy company Petrobras under the condition that they not enter Ecuador and fill the gap left by US companies. The cable can be read here.
  • In an interview with Vanity Fair, whistleblower Edward Snowden stated on his admiration of WikiLeaks: "They run toward the risks everyone else runs away from. No other publisher in the world is prepared to commit to protecting sources—even other journalists’ sources—the way WikiLeaks is."
  • WikiLeaks marked the 83rd birthday of Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg by linking to the archive of 61 cables in which he is mentioned.
