WikiLeaks News: 
  • Naked Capitalism published an article on the TPP environment chapter released by WikiLeaks, picking out major points made in other analyses of the chapter.
  • A WikiLeaks cable reveals a $21 million bribe paid to then-President of Panama Ernesto Perez Balladares to prevent him a tax increase from 8% to 15%.
  • An article in EJO analyses how American journalists view WikiLeaks, noting the often strong crticism and attempts to categorize WikiLeaks as something other than journalism.

Julian Assange News:
  • Julian Assange appeared on CNN Around the World where he discussed President Obama's speech on NSA reforms. He mentioned how the debate on surveillance wouldn't have happened without Edward Snowden and other NSA whistleblowers. He criticized Obama for "saying almost nothing" and making few concrete reforms. Mr Assange also noted that Edward Snowden will be giving his reply to the speech sometime next week.
