A secret Grand Jury on WikiLeaks has been active for 1021 days.

  • Updates continue on NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden's situation:
    • Bolivia rejected a U.S. extradition request for Mr Snowden calling it "strange, illegal, and unfounded".
    • Bolivia has stated they could close the U.S. Embassy over the plane incident.
    • The U.S. Ambassador to Austria called the Austrian Foreign Ministry and told them the false claim Mr Snowden was on Bolivian President Evo Morales' plane.
    • Icelandic MPs have introduced a proposal to grant Mr Snowden citizenship. The bill went into recess and will not be discussed until October.
    • Multiple French political parties have united in calling for Mr Snowden to be granted asylum.
    • The U.S. has sent the Irish Government a warrant for Mr Snowden's arrest. This comes as multiple Irish politicans have spoken out in support of Mr Snowden.
    • The European Parliamnet voted to scrap its data-sharing agreements with the U.S. unless the U.S. reveals the full extent of its spying on Europe.
    • Director Oliver Stone came out in support of Mr Snowden, calling him a "hero" and condemning the Obama Administration's tactics as a "disgrace".
    • Journalist John Pilger writes that forcing down President Morales' plane was an act of "air piracy".
    • The Ron Paul Institute issued a statement on how Mr Snowden's case highlights "deep constitutional erosion" in the states.
    • WikiLeaks tweeted, "Please search the parliamentary/congressional records of your nation for comments. Use hashtag ".
    • Al Jazeera aired a program focused on the U.S. and its empire of secrets, featuring guests including Oliver Stone, Jeremy Scahill, and WikiLeaks lawyer Michael Ratner.
    • A five-minute film has been made by independent filmmakers in Hong Kong about Mr Snowden's time spent in a Hong Kong hotel.
  • Self-described "patriotic" hacker "th3J35t3r" announced his plans to attempt to force Julian Assange out of the Ecuadorian Embassy as well as targeting countries where Edward Snowden has applied for asylum.
