WikiLeaks News:

 WikiLeaks Party News:
  • WikiLeaks Party spokeswoman Sam Castro appeared on SYN Radio where she discussed the link between the WikiLeaks Party and independent media.

Julian Assange News:
  • A panel discussion on Julian Assange will be held May 23 at La Trobe University, Melbourne. Panelists will be Julian Burnside, Greg Barns, and Robert Manne, with Mary Kostakidis chairing the discussion.
  • Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor playing Julian Assange in DreamWorks' film "The Fifth Estate", talked about Mr Assange's refusal to meet him. He commented, "He felt that a meeting would condone a film he felt was too poisonous an account.... We had a discussion, though, which was good. If Julian is feeling that way, politically he's right not to let that (a meeting) happen, because it would be like a blessing."

Bradley Manning News:
  • SF Pride arranged a public meeting to allow community members to discuss why they believe Bradley Manning should be grand marshal, but speakers were only given one minute a piece, and the meeting closed abruptly after the first set of speakers. The meeting is to be rescheduled, but neither the date nor place has been set. (For more on this meeting, see Kevin Gosztola's Storify).
  • A panel discussion on Bradley Manning was held today at The Century Club, London. Speakers were Julian Assange, Chase Madar, Ben Griffin, Andy Worthington, Peter Tatchell, and Vivienne Westwood. Some tweets are available from the event and video will be up at a later time.
