  • NYT eXaminer posted their FOIA request which asks for information regarding communications between the State Department and The New York Times related to WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, or Bradley Manning.
  • Birgitta Jónsdóttir, Jacob Appelbaum, Karl Kathuria, and Dr Ian Brown discussed cyber snooping at the Frontline Club in London, which included conversation about WikiLeaks, TrapWire, Twitter, and more.

Julian Assange News:
  • The Australian Attorney-General's Department released documents relating to Julian Assange and the alleged sealed indictment against him in response to a FOI request. The documents are heavily redacted, with multiple full pages whited out due to "material being outside the admit of the request".
  • Ecuadorian Vice Foreign Minister Marco Albuja Martinez expressed concern over Julian Assange's health and that he could not go to hospital, as he would be arrested upon leaving the Embassy. Mr Assange has grown noticeably thinner, according to Vice FM Martinez, and denying him proper treatment would be "an issue of human rights".
  • Jacob Appelbaum posted a series of tweets after meeting with Julian Assange:
    • "After two days of visiting with Julian at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, I urge the UK government to grant him safe passage to Ecuador. I urge everyone to contact the UK government and demand that #JulianAssange be granted safe passage to Ecuador. The amount of tactical surveillance gear aimed at the Ecuadorian embassy for spying on #JulianAssange is absolutely absurd."
  • Longtime supporter Vivienne Westwood visited Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy wearing an "I Am Julian Assange" shirt, which was part of her recent London show.

Bradley Manning News:
  • The Bradley Manning Support Network posted a preview of what will be argued during Bradley Manning's pretrial hearings from October 30 to November 2. The hearing will focus on PFC Manning's lack of speedy trial, and the Government's explanations over extensive delays.
