WikiLeaks News:

  • Today marked the 11th anniversary of the War in Afghanistan. On July 25, 2010, WikiLeaks released over 91,000 reports covering the war. Recently, researchers at the University of Sheffield used this data to accurately predict future conflicts.
  • Arne Hintz, a research fellow at McGill University, published an essay entitled "Challenges to Freedom of Expression in the Digital World: Lessons from WikiLeaks and the Arab Spring".
  • Julian Assange has hired lawyers in Sydney to look into suing Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard for defamation for her statement that WikiLeaks acted "illegally". This statement was then used to justify the banking blockade against WikiLeaks in Australia. Mr Assange also discussed the lack of assistance he has received from the Australian Government.
  • WikiLeaks released all emails (973) to and from the Syrian People's Assebly. WikiLeaks has been releasing large batches of the Syria Files daily over the past few weeks, totaling over 210,000 emails.
