WikiLeaks News:
  • WikiLeaks released a document which shows the U.S. Military referring to Julian Assange as the "enemy" with the "victims" being "society".
    • Julian Assange discussed the document after being asked about it during the Q&A session after his UN address.
    • Glenn Greenwald analysed the document, saying that it implies any leak of classified information can constitute as "aiding" or "communicating with the enemy, which are capital offenses".
    • Julian Assange's U.S. lawyer Michael Ratner appeared on Democracy Now! to discuss the implications for his client.
    • Australian Greens Senator Scott Ludlam commented on the document, saying that its time for the Australian Government to take a stand against the U.S. persecution of Julian Assange.
    • SMH has a poll asking if readers agree with the designation, which currently stands at 9% yes, 88% no, and 3% don't know.
  • WikiLeaks released the transcript of Julian Assange's address to the UN, which focused on the U.S. persecution of WikiLeaks.
  • Whistleblower Jesselyn Radack appeared on RT to discuss Julian Assange's address to the UN, as well as the designation of him and WikiLeaks as the "enemy". 
  • WikiLeaks released all emails (1,149) from the Syrian Ministry of Transport. WikiLeaks has been releasing large batches of the Syria Files daily over the past few weeks, totaling over 168,000 emails.  
  • WikiLeaks Press analysed emails released by WikiLeaks which Stratfor's investigation into the crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight 409.

Julian Assange News:
  • Ecuador Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino met with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague to discuss Julian Assange's asylum situation. After the meeting, FM Patino stated that they "see no immediate solution", and FS Hague stated that they will "continue to meet". FM Patino also drew attention to concerns over Mr Assange's health, should he have a prolonged stay at the Embassy.
  • Amnesty International called on Sweden to grant assurances that Julian Assange will not be extradited to the U.S. from Sweden.
  • Willy Meyer, MEP & Secretary for International Relations for the United Left, met with Julian Assange yesterday, commenting on the importance of preventing his extradition to the U.S. (Short video in Spanish also available.)

Bradley Manning News:
  • In Bradley Manning's October 29 hearings, his lawyer will argue that all charges should be dismissed for the lack of speedy trial. Bradley's attorney, David Coombs, has posted the new defence motion online.
  • The Bradley Manning Support Network issued a news update for September 26 which covers a benefactor who is matching donations to Bradley's defence fund, whistleblowers being threatened as WikiLeaks labeled as an "enemy", and Julian Assange's address to the UN.
